Need info on taking down aboveground pool with algae?

I have a 18x48 above ground intex pool. I want to drain it take it down for the winter. But, I have been hit with algae, I have been using liquid chlorine to kill it. I have noticed less on bottom, but water still discolored (light green). I have decided to just drain the pool and wipe it down till it is dry and then store it for the winter.
Is this okay, or do I have to combat getting water sparkling clear first? What am I risking by just do it as I had planned?
