Our gross down pillows?

I have some very expensive king sized luxury down pillows, which have changed from a white to a brown from my husbands sweat and my ignorance of not knowing what a pillow protector was...

So my husbands sweat changed the color (as well as the smell) of our pillows, and I don't know if I can throw them in the washer or not, what should I do???

I have a handheld steam cleaner if that helps...

I have down pillows and my hubby's is the same brown ..well it was . I put the 2 in the washer so it wouldn't get off balance with just one , and I added bleach , baking soda and my detergent , and I washed them on normal cycle and dryed them on high heat for 20 minutes because they hold water after the spin cycle , and once the main wetness was gone I finished drying them on low . They came out just fine , and are back to white . I was not gonna throw mine away , they were expensive , and still good just smelly and dirty . Once you get them clean again use the pillow protectors . Good Luck . I am glad I took a chance and washed mine instead of throwing them away ! I have since then washed them every 3 or 4 months , for the past 2 years and they are still fine as can be .
